District Court for the Eastern
District of Michigan.
Mr. Topa is also admitted to the
United States Tax Court.
He is a member of the

Mr. Topa is a member of the
Michigan State Bar Association
Tax Law Section,
Business Law

Probate & Estate

Health Care Law Section and former
Chair of the
Law Student Section.
He is also a member of the
Washtenaw County Bar
Association.
Community Involvement
During law school, Mr. Topa
became one of the founding
members of the Washtenaw
County EITC Coalition and
the
Washtenaw County Asset
Building Coalition where
he continues to serve as a
volunteer tax return trainer
and site coordinator.
Mr. Topa is a
Benedictine
Oblate at Saint Meinrad
Archabbey, St. Meinrad,
Indiana, where he serves on
the Oblate Council. He
is also a 4th Degree
Knight
of Columbus where he served
as Council 1086 Chancellor, Warden,
Recorder and Youth Director.
Mr. Topa is the former
College and Vendor
Coordinator for
Youthfest,
Inc., Christian Rock Concert
and Fun Day program. In his spare time
Mr. Topa helps to design and
maintain database programs
for non-profit
organizations.
Education
Mr. Topa graduated from
Indiana
University earning a
Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs &
Criminal Justice from
the
School of Public and
Environmental Affairs.
While at Indiana University,
Mr. Topa was a member of the
Hutton Honors
College. Among his many
campus activities, he served
as
Mu Chapter President of
Alpha Phi
Omega National Service
Fraternity and was awarded
its highest distinction, the
Distinguished Service Key
for exemplifying the ideals
of Leadership, Friendship
and Service.
Mr. Topa went on to earn a
Masters in Business
Administration in the
Leadership
Education for Adult
Professionals program at
Indiana
Wesleyan University in 2000.
During his MBA, he was the
recipient of the
"Outstanding Professional Award"
for exemplifying the highest
qualities of leadership,
integrity and professionalism.
In 2002, Mr. Topa graduated from
the
Indiana University, Kelley
School of Business earning a
Masters of Professional
Accountancy with a concentration
in Financial Analysis.
During his MPA, Mr. Topa
participated in an Activities
Based Costing and inventory
control project for a major
textbook retailer as well as
stock valuation projects for two
major clothing retailers.
Mr. Topa attended the
Ave Maria School of Law in Ann
Arbor, MI and earned his Juris
Doctorate in 2006. The law
school awarded Mr. Topa the
St. Thomas More Scholarship for
Academic Achievement. He was
president of the Business Law
Society, served in
Phi Alpha
Delta and helped start the local
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
program for Washtenaw County.
Mr. Topa is currently a
candidate for a Legum Magister (LLM)
with a concentration in Taxation
at
Wayne State University Law
School in Detroit, Michigan.
His coursework includes
Individual Taxation, Corporate
Taxation, Partnership Taxation,
State & Local Taxation,
International Taxation, Federal
Tax Practice and Employee
Benefits.

About Mr. Topa :
Christopher J. Topa oversees the
day-to-day operations of the
firm. Mr.
Topa also works on a variety of
Tax, Business and Estate
matters, including: tax return
preparation, taxpayer
representation, claims before
federal and state courts and
administrative agencies, estate
and trust planning, business
formations, non-profit
formations, and
counseling clients on business
and estate-related issues.
He enjoys spending time outdoors
camping, hiking and fishing.
His favorite activity, however,
is spending time with his wife
and daughter who often come to
visit us at the office.
